Position Overview


As a Senior Scala Engineer, your job would be to write the server side code that powers Abra’s mobile apps in Scala. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a high volume transaction system.  The ideal candidate will be responsible to build a scalable back-end infrastructure. This infrastructure will do digital cash transactions between smartphone users all around the world. Finally, you will also help us writing test automation to assure that our solutions delight our customers.

Responsibilities

 

  • The Senior Scala Engineer will set metrics and lead the growing back end engineering team.
  • design architecture with Product, UX, and Mobile App development team.
  • Write automated tests for those APIs
  • Act as a liaison for communication between the various engineering teams to strategist the future of ad forecasting and pacing
  • Write automated tests for those APIs

Skills And Requirements

  • Overall 5+ years of work experience in Server side Development.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field
  • A very deep understanding of distributed systems and fluency working with Scala
  • Deep expertise in REST and RESTful APIs
  • Deep understanding of JavaScript (Backbone.js/Ajax/JQuery) HTML and CSS
  • JBehave or Cucumber, Git, continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
  • You are curious, persistent, logical and clever – a true techie at heart.
  • You enjoy living by the code of your craft and developing elegant solutions for complex problems.
  • Ability to work effectively, efficiently and independently with minimal oversight
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Responsible, self-motivated, hardworking and excellent team player
  • Experience managing high performing teams at a high level
  • Experience with TDD
